Checker Courier respects your privacy and is taking every possible measure to insure that the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information is conducted in a proper and prescribed manner, in accordance with the requirements as set out in the Personal Information and Protection of Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

All information gathered from our customers, employees, or suppliers is maintained for internal corporate use by Checker Courier only.

Checker Courier commits itself to the ten principles of PIPEDA, as follows:

1. Accountability

   • Checker Courier is responsible for the personal information gathered and maintained under it's control and shall designate an individual who is accountable for the organization's compliance under PIPEDA. Checker has designated Pegi Enders for this purpose.

2. Identifying Purposes

   • The purpose for which the personal information is collected shall be disclosed by Checker Courier at or before the time that the information is collected.

3. Consent

   • The knowledge and consent of the individual are required for the collection or disclosure of personal information, except where inappropriate.

4. Limiting Collection

   • The collection of personal information by Checker Courier shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purpose identified.

5. Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention

   • Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by the law. Personal information will be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.

6. Accuracy

   • Personal information shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as necessary for the purpose for which it is to be used.

7. Safeguards

   • Personal information will be appropriately protected relative to the sensitivity of the information.

8. Openness

   • All policy and practise information pertaining to the management of personal information, will be made readily available by Checker Courier.

9. Individual Access

   • Upon request, Checker Courier will inform an individual of the existence, use, and disclosure of their personal information and shall grant the individual access to their information. The individual will have the opportunity to challenge the accuracy and completeness of their information and have it amended as appropriate.

10. Challenging Compliance

    • An individual shall be able to address a challenge concerning compliance with the above principles to the designated individual(s) accountable for Checker's compliance with this policy.
